Pass Line Bet with 1 Come Bet Both with Double Odds (Right Side—Conservative)

This simple yet effective bet pattern calls for the player to make one pass line bet and then back it up with double odds once the point is established. After the point is established we immediately make one come bet and back it up with double odds. Now, with two numbers working for us we stop betting (bear in mind that when putting into play any of our bet patterns, rolls of craps and eleven are ignored whether betting right or wrong). At this point we stand ready to keep two numbers in play backed with full double odds at all times. That is to say, if either the pass line number or the come number repeats and is thereby won, we immediately replace it and follow up with double odds.

For example, if the come number repeats, we collect the winnings and make another come bet and back it with double odds. The pass line bet, of course, would be unaffected by this. Similarly, if the point were repeated, our pass line bet would be paid off. The disk would go “Off” and we would be coming out again for a new roll. Our come bet would have been unaffected by the point repeating and would remain up. At this point we would make another pass line bet in our effort to keep two numbers in play at all times. Remember once again that now, on the come out roll, we ignore rolls of craps and eleven when trying to establish our point. Further remember that our odds bet on our come number is not working on come out rolls. If the 7 is rolled the come number is lost while we win our line bet and the odds will be returned to us. Don’t forget to pick them up.

This bet pattern is quite conservative for two reasons. First, the Player never has too much exposure or risk to the 7 as only 2 numbers are covered at any one time. Second, the player has locked the house advantage to a scant .6% or, if playing single odds, .8%. Double odds are always preferred.

Properly capitalized (we’ll get into bank roll and money management in Chapter 8) one should be able to meet the house virtually head on, statistically speaking, and consequently play for a long time, offering a chance for a hot roll to develop. Should a few numbers repeat before a 7 you can easily double your money or better.

This is a simple, safe and sane way to approach any craps table. We strongly suggest to the beginner to play this rudimentary and statistically sound bet pattern for at least the first few times at live casino play.
